This just in the news today, for the first time in 20 years, Burma (Myanmar) will be having a very long awaited election. The question on everyone's mind is will it be fair?

To bring you up to speed, in 1990, Burma had an election where Aung San Suu Kyi won against the strict junta government. The junta government was a military dictatorship which had and still participates in one of the longest running genocides in history. The problem was Miss Suu Kyi was placed under house arrest, and actually she still is under that very same house arrest. ย
Hopefully, we will see this November if the current government will allow fair elections and if so, will they be willing to step down if they lose. For more the news articles, check the BBC and CS Monitor.
